| At Kattwalk Golden Retrievers, I believe that a Golden's most important job is "Man's Best Friend" My puppies are bred for beauty, health and temperament. All of which help make them outstanding show dogs and family pets. The vast majority of the dogs in my pedigrees are American Kennel Club Champions. Many also have working titles and are outstanding sires or dams. Each breeding is planned with great care. The combination of ancestors is carefully evaluated with the goal of improving the next generation. The genetic make-up of each litter's parents are carefully and painstakingly studied to enhance and improve on each subsequent generation's health, structure, beauty and temperament. My dogs have pedigrees that possess great depth of health clearances (At least 6 generations), and include a consideration of each parent and grandparent's own littermates. That means an even stronger health and temperament outcome for a puppy. All of my dogs used for breeding have complete health clearances, including but not limited to: OFA clearance for Hip Dysplasia, cleared for the cardiac defect Subvalvular Aortic Stenosis (SAS) and Hereditary Cataracts. The final factors in the longevity and health of a dog will be the care a dog receives both as a puppy and as an adult. Kattwalk puppies are raised in my house and are well socialized before going to their new families. They will have received all needed veterinary care, immunizations and temperament testing before leaving my home. As a general rule I will be the one choosing the best puppy to suit an individual buyer's needs and requests. Show puppies are chosen first and their placement ALWAYS takes priority. Show puppies are only placed in homes where they are sure to be shown. In small litters it is possible that all of the puppies are potential show prospects and no pet puppies will be available. The puppies will have started with housebreaking and crate training. New puppy owners are provided with an extensive puppy packet which includes a copy of my contract, health clearances, pictures, pedigrees and much more. Every effort is made to insure each puppy will be destined for a long, happy and healthy life. Puppies will go home between 7 - 9 weeks depending on when I am able to determine which puppies are potential show dogs and if the pups are mature enough to go home. |
